Texas World Meningitis Day Proclamation

We are incredibly honored to receive an official letter from Governor Greg Abbott welcoming everyone to our inaugural "Swing for a Cause, Strike Out Meningitis" benefit at Home Run Dugout in Katy, Texas. The Governor commended The Guardians of Youth Foundation, our sponsors, and our youth ambassadors for their unwavering commitment to public health advocacy and educating families about meningitis prevention. 

In addition to supporting our event, the Governor has officially presented a state recognition observing October 5, 2026, as World Meningitis Day in Texas. The recognition encourages all Texans to learn the symptoms, understand available prevention measures, and stand in solidarity with those affected by this devastating illness. Together, we can strengthen public health education and work toward a future free from preventable meningitis tragedies.
